Registration Staff will not be responsible for delays caused by the failure to complete ANY portion of the registration process. | REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS: 1) SUBMIT ONLINE FORM - Complete the online registration form and then click the "SUBMIT" button.
NOTE: Please enter your FULL NAME as it appears on the Photo ID you'll be mailing with your registration packet. For example, if your name is "Margaret Rogers Smith" and that's what's on your Photo ID, please enter that on your registration form. Not your nickname of "Maggie Rogers" or "Margaret Rogers."
2) PROOF OF AGE - Here are the three ways you can show that you are 18+. - UNALTERED PHOTOCOPY of a valid form of ID that has your NAME, PHOTO and BIRTHDATE on it. NAME, PHOTO and BIRTHDATE must be clearly visible. DO NOT BLACK OUT THESE PORTIONS OF YOUR ID.
- Check the box provided on the online reg form if you've attended the con (in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 and/or 2007) before and had PRE-REGISTERED, or
- VCity/Aestheticism ID#
3) PAYMENT* - Make check, money order, or traveler's check payable to BISEINEN-YA for the appropriate amount in USD.
Yaoi-Con can no longer accept payment via Paypal due to its Mature Audiences Policy. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.
4) PRINT THE EMAIL - Check your email for a message from "notify @ quickbase.com" titled "Yaoi-Con 2008: Registration Form Submitted to Database". If you don't see it in your inbox, check your Junk Mail folder. Review the information in the email to make sure that it is correct. If the information is incorrect, submit a new online form with the necessary edits.
5) MAIL YOUR COMPLETE REGISTRATION PACKET - Make sure your packet contains the following: - A print out of the email titled "Yaoi-Con 2008: Registration Form Submitted to Database",
- PAYMENT* made out to BISEINEN-YA, and
- UNALTERED PHOTOCOPY of a valid form of ID that has your NAME, PHOTO and BIRTHDATE on it (if necessary),
- Mail these to the following address:

6) We are no longer sending out hard copy confirmations/receipts. Everyone who pre-registers will receive an email with the subject "Yaoi-Con 2008: Registration Complete" from "notify @ quickbase.com". That is your receipt. Please bring a PRINT OUT of that confirmation email along with a valid photo ID to the Registration desk at the convention to pick up your badge.

Pre-Registration & At-the-Door Registration:
It is mandatory to show a valid PHOTO ID at the Registration Desk to pick up your badge or to register. There will be no exceptions to this rule. Acceptable forms of photo ID: Valid Driver's License, Passport, School ID that contains photo and date of birth.
If you are a Pre-Registered Attendee, you are only allowed to pick up your own Membership Badge. Each person is required to show a PHOTO ID in order to collect his/her badge and convention materials.
Lost Badge Policy:
Lost Badges will be replaced at the Full At-the-Door Rate of $60.00. If you later locate your badge, a pro-rated refund will be given. ALL LOST badges should be reported immediately to the Registration Staff.
Lost/Broken Bracelet Policy:
Broken/defective bracelets can be EXCHANGED for a new one for free. LOST bracelets will be replaced at the Full At-the-Door Rate of $60.00. ALL LOST badges should be reported immediately to the Registration Staff.

REGISTRATION FAQ
Q: I'm part of the volunteer staff. Do I have to pay to register?
A: Volunteers have to register (and pay) like everyone else, but volunteers are eligible for raffles, events, and freebies that won't be available to other attendees.
NOTE: If you are registering with your 2007 Volunteer hours, please register as normal and submit a payment if necessary. 7+ hours gets you in for half off and 12+ hours gets you in for free. If you don't know how many hours you've accumulated, please email [ Todd ] to check. Then you will need to email [ Saya ] to let her know you're using your hours for some or all of your payment.
Q: I'm not 18 yet, but I will be before Yaoi-Con is held. Can I register now?
A: Absolutely! If you were born on or before September 26, 1990, you are welcome to register for Yaoi-Con 2008.
Q: I'll be 18 on September 26, 2008. Can I come to the convention?
A: You need to be 18 years old on or before September 26, 2008, to register for Yaoi-Con.
Q: I won't be 18 in time for the convention this year, but I really want to attend! What if I get my parents' permission to come to Yaoi-Con?
A: Yaoi-Con cannot waive the age requirement, even if a minor has parental permission or parental supervision.
Q: What form of payment should I send?
A: BISEINEN-YA accepts both checks and money orders in US funds. If you won't listen to me, listen to your mother: DO NOT SEND CASH THROUGH THE MAIL. BISEINEN-YA cannot take responsibility for applications and funds lost in the mail.

Q: When I photocopy my driver's license, the birth date isn't legible. What do I do?
A: Use another form of ID on which your photo, name and birth date are visible. Try your passport or a combo like school ID plus birth certificate.
Q: Oops! I mailed my application in without my proof of age! Can you process it anyway?
A: NO. We must have all your registration materials (online form submitted to the database, print out of the registration email, photocopy of your proof of age [if necessary], and payment) before we will process your membership. To qualify for the Early Bird ($40) or General Rate ($50), your COMPLETE registration packet must be POSTMARKED by the deadline date.
Q: I missed the General Rate registration deadline!!! What do I do?! Can I mail my packet in anyway?
A: NO. Please register at the convention. If you mail your registration packet POSTMARKED AFTER the deadline, your packet will be returned to you.
Q: I registered, but I can't come to the convention after all. Can I get a refund?
A: BISEINEN-YA cannot refund your membership fee. You can transfer your membership if you follow these steps: - Find someone 18+ willing to buy your membership from you.
- Give that person the receipt from your registration confirmation packet.
- Email [ Saya ] to let her know who you are transferring your registration to. Please include the person's Full Name, Badge Name, and Email Address.
- That person must then submit an online form to the database, mail in a print out of their registration email, photocopy of their proof of age [if necessary], and your receipt (in lieu of payment) to the registration address POSTMARKED no later than August 22, 2008. Registration staff will contact you both via email to verify the transfer before canceling your registration and processing the new membership. No transfers will be processed after August 22, 2008.
Q: What happens if I violate Yaoi-Con's Code of Conduct?
A: At an Adults Only convention, we're hoping the members will behave like adults. If your behavior is in breach of the convention's Code of Conduct, you will be evicted from the convention and banned from future Yaoi-Cons. Your registration fee will not be refunded.
Q: You already have my proof of age! Why do you need to check a photo ID at the door?
A: We want to be sure the person who picks up the membership badge is the person who paid for it. And we really, REALLY want to be sure you're 18+. Persons who registered with fraudulent proof of age will be turned away at the door and will not be eligible to receive a refund. NOTE: The above information is subject to change.
