How to Get to Downtown SF

As this year's venue is not located in downtown San Francisco, con-goers will find getting to Japantown and other areas of interest a bit more of a challenge. However, we aren't leaving you out in the cold....

SAMTRANS

SamTrans is the local bus service that serves the San Mateo County area and beyond. Buses DO go between San Mateo and the downtown San Francisco (Civic Center) area.

Schedules, Maps & Fares

Fares: Adult - $1.50, Youth - $1.00

Bus Line Closest to Hotel: [ Route 292 ]

Hotel Stop:  Delaware Blvd & Concar Dr.

Northbound Stop (To Downtown San Mateo &
San Francisco Mission & 1st St.)

Southbound Stop (To Hillsdale Shopping Center)

If unsure of where to get off for certain stops closest to your destination, ask the Operator to announce your stop and they will announce your stop once the bus is close by.

BART

The BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) system offers regularly scheduled and affordable transportation to many parts of San Francisco from nearby the hotel and San Francisco International Airport (remember: the hotel offers free limited shuttle service between the hotel and SFO).

For schedules, please visit the following:

BART Millbrae/SFO - Dublin/Pleasanton Line

BART Airport Connections

One thing of note: BART does not run 24 hours in most areas. Please ensure that you do not find yourself stranded by either paying close attention to schedules or making arrangements for alternative transportation.

* please note that all schedules are subject to change

MUNI

For travel within downtown San Francisco, nothing beats the convenience and flexibility of MUNI, the San Francisco Municipal Railway. MUNI provides bus and cable car transportation throughout the city and is an affordable alternative to the higher cost of taxicabs or private vehicles (especially with regard to parking -- it's outrageously high in the downtown area!).

You may purchase advance passes to all MUNI vehicles via the San Francisco Convention & Visitors' Bureau, some that also include BART and tour accessibility.

MAPS & VISITOR INFORMATION

Wondering where everything is in San Francisco? Well, look no further! The San Francisco Convention & Visitors' Bureau also provides a wealth of information on downtown SF including downloadable maps.

Needing some take-along materials or want to pre-plan your itinerary? You can order Visitor Planning Kits from the San Francisco Convention & Visitors' Bureau, most of which are free!
