QUOTE: Hey Irvine, your mod reading skills surpass mine and almost every other ITG player in the country. I will follow this statement with smiles ^_^_^_^. We need to go down to MGL sometime and whore up the 4th mix+. That thing rocks much harder then DDR extreme or ITG. (more smiles just because ^_^)
Whoa, dude... thanks. <3 I'd love to go with you. I miss 4th Mix Plus.

*whimpers* You people talking about passing 12's and the like scares me. I plateaued a while ago at being able to do most DDR 6s and a few 7s, but then life took over, and I've not been able to play it as much as I want to. I prolly could still pass a 6, but a slew would prolly kill me again. And the thought of me doing something like Drunk Drunk would prolly have me out with my rather poor ability and inexperience drinking. (I've never been drunk in my life.)
Anyway, that aside, I'm an old-time gamer, and that applies to the DDRs also. I prefer the old 3rd mix songs. (Of course, So Many Men may have me slightly biased toward that...) But Solo... yes, I like that mode also, even if I've never seen an arcade 6-panel. So it has to be played at home. And I've had it with the cheap pads, I went for the mid-grade ones with the inch-thick foam. I'd love a home metal one, but I have nowhere to keep it.

it seems like no one's posted in this thread for awhile, but oh well!
its okay dunno001, i am a fellow plateau-er as well. I've been playing DDR off and on for years...and I go through phases where I play religiously, and then not play for months and months. When I'm serious, I train for an hour-ish a day with 3 pound ankle weights, doing heavy singles and standard doubles. For now, and sadly for the rest of my years, the hardest i can probably do would be 10-ish feet on heavy single, and maybe 5-6 feet on standard double? i dont know, i dont really pay attention. I love DDR to pieces, but it's so hard to keep up with all my obsessions! rargh...
and I use foam pads too! I wish I had the money for a metal pad, but i can afford one for home use as much as i can afford to play DDR at arcades. -_-;;
and oh yeah, ITG rules too! I think I like DDR better just cuz its so classic and japanese

Yeah, obsessions suck time. And that's something I don't have. However, I did invest in the ankle weights, since last time I played at the arcade (a few months ago), there were only a few people there, and one of them was letting others use the 2 lb ones he had, and yeah, it was a definite workout, so I went and got 5 lb ones myself. They'll kill me... once I get the time to use them.
However, I did plateau because of the elitist attitude that a lot of the players in this area have about the game. Because of the Japanese versions, I was one of the first in the arcade to do trick/another/standard/whatever you want to call it, but when the mallrats got better, it was constant ridicule if you didn't play on maniac (or whatever). That stopped me for a while, and every time I get the urge to go back to it, I have to rebuild up my stamina for it. So I just never get better. Now the arcade has ITG2, and well... those tri and quad hits are a pain. But again, there's no real good way to practice those...
