Yaoi-Con 2008 | A Celebration of Male Beauty & Passion in Anime & Manga

I'm already pre-reg'd for this year again . Been going to Fanime ever since I came up here for college in '03 (2004 was my first). Definitely be looking for me around the convention and at the Yaoi Con events, of course .

Things to do...gonna have to second Gothkitti on Reeath. Reeath is just shear AWESOME. I watch it every time to go to Fanime. Plus if you really liked it, you should try and catch their other fandub, Nescaflowne (battling coffee companies using Escalowne) and Fanboy Bebop. And I'm so jealous, Gothkitti! You went to college with them!

Wandering and talking to other attendees is also fun

If you cosplay or like taking pictures of cosplayers, don't forget to check out the Fanime forums in the Cosplay section for the Gatherings. That's where people plan for cosplayers of the same series to gather up and take all sorts of pictures in tons of poses at. It makes for some great action shots.

Oh, and also getting food with other people (especially cosplayers) is a blast. Almost everyone goes for food off-site (lots of places to choose from within walking distance). It's always fun seeing cosplayers invading the 'normal' people as they eat, lol.

I have recently made the rash decision to attend Fanime for the first time this year! ^___^
I've gone to AX for the past 5 years but this last year kinda sucked and there's no way I'm going to something at the LA Convention Center so I'm replacing it with Fanime. There was just no way I could wait til sept to go to con again. I think I'd wither away or something...
So! Count me in for the fun!

This year will be my fourth time attending Fanime. Ycon and Fanime are really the only cons I attend (can afford) per year. :3 It's a fun con, cool to meet up with friends and do cosplay groups/gatherings. You're sure to meet quite a few Ycon attendees at the late night yaoi events.

I plan to attend Fanime. I attended it for the first time last year and enjoyed it enough to attend it regularly.
We should schedule a meet-up there. It'd be cool to meet up with other fellow Yaoi Con attendees.

I also wanted to talk about the things that I have planned for the con and it'd be great if any of you could make any of these events.
I have a photo shoot I plan on doing for general R.P.G. characters and I also have a few events scheduled with them being:
1. Story Story Die. An improv game where people take turns improvising an anime story and anyone who has trouble coming up with material is eliminated from the game and must act out a dramatic death. I plan to have prizes for this game as well.
2. The Anime List. A discussion game where people discuss their favorite choices of various anime topics and then vote on their favorite choices of the ones that were selected.
3. Fan art caption contest. This is the first time I'll be holding a contest and I'm excited about doing it. It's a contest where people submit fan art and people in attendance will view the submissions and come up with their own captions. There'll be prizes for whoever can come up with the best captions along with the best submission.

I'll be attending. :3 Truth be told, last year's Fanime wasn't fun at all for me, but I'm being optimistic about this year. <3
