 hock: yaoi boys scare me...
Anyways, I should have enough money to go for the con, I just need the right days off of work, but I am not sure if I can take that amount of days off. I intended to try for the 25th-29th, just so I'd have an extra day before/after the con to get everything ready for the flight and whatnot. But we'll see how it turns out later on in the year, maybe I'll be able to pull it off.

If all else fails, offer to make the extra time up as overtime! I'm sure we can make it worth your while~ ^_~
YCon sucks up hellish numbers of days off for me. Flight out on the Thursday, land at home the Tuesday after, plus time for jetlag (because 8hrs takes a while to make up!) - my holiday allowance is brutally raped every year, and they don't even have the decency to use a cornbrator to do it! T_T

I'll be damned if I ever figure out how you people do an 8 hour lag, since just 3 was severely messing with me. I wanted to stay for the dance, but a little after midnight local time, my mind screamed at me saying it was after 3 in the *explicitives deleted* morning, as a large stack of something falls over in my head from it throwing a fit. (And yes, I did get a headache from it... -_- ) Part of me would love to get back out there, but a few mitigating factors are going to make it hard for me. (I'm planning a move this year.) Plus, it feels as though a lot of the people there were regulars, and as such, already had their cliques, making it hard for me to try to talk to many people... -_-

That's something I am worried about also, but it doesn't bother me so much after I thought about it a bit. I can always just go up and introduce myself to some random people, though it'd be a bit hard since I'm a little shy. Or I'll just walk around singing to myself and buying some yaoi, and if people come up and talk then I'll talk to them.
 Or I could go on a rabid fanboy hugging rampage!

It's that British bulldog spirit!
8hrs, in all truth, reaches that point where it's so bad, it's good all over again. I basically assume I'll have no more than 4hrs' sleep on any given con day (I was up til 6:30 after the dance this year, just talking to people I met at the dance), so when you're mixing that with that much lag, the concept of 'body clock' goes out the window. I'm either awake or not; there's no tiredness 'til I hit the pillow!
As for you two concerned about not knowing people... Nyuu~! T_T *tacklesnugglesmish* Neko will always be happy to talk to/hang out with you when he has a free moment! Most people at the con are very welcoming and receptive, so even if you only have fleeting conversations as you pass, there's lots of smiles and a very wlecoming attitude, by my experience~
Fear not, you will be well looked after!

I used to be able to do that, until I lost all ability to sleep in due to work. (Being at work at 10 AM is a late day, 7-8 AM was normal most days.) Then my body adjusted (and revolted), and started going to sleep earlier. I'm sure if I were even talking to people, my mind would not have noticed, but... -_-

Well, my problem is that I'm a VERY shy person at my core. I find the analogy of being a baby chick in a shell constantly being reinforced due to being hurt works well, but I know that if I don't lessen the toughness of the shell, I'll die without being born. (Did I watch too much Utena? Maybe...) But, my enclosure means if I don't know you somehow, I'm not going to be the one to initiate. People from the forums here, well, you already know my personality, so I'm more likely to be open around you guys. (My online shell is very weak; and my real shell knows that if you've not hurt me in my online shell, it'll let you in.) Otherwise, well... I always tell people to feel free to ask me questions, since I hate rambling like this...
