Okay.. maybe I am just slow here.. but do none of you watch fansubbing? I mean, I saw the movie in late December last year.. and haib, I know you said you haven't seen all of FMA.. but again.. the fansubs exist.. I'll even burn them to disc and send them to you! Perhaps I am just truly confused. Wouldn't be the first time.. won't be the last.. :P
There are some people who prefer to remain on the legal side of things, myself included. No matter how you shake things, fansubs are illegal. And as for FMA, all fansubs of that should be destroyed, because of the series being licensed. Oh, wait... online distro completely ignores what the goal of fansubbing was (to get a series noticed and licensed), and is now about doing the biggest thing for bragging rights. And that's why I got out of fansubs years ago. I'm content with buying the FMA disks, and if you like the series, I trust you're buying them too, else it's just plain theft.
Yeah.. I have absolutely no problem with buying the english version of something.. however, if it doesn't exist in english, why should I have to wait 1+ years for the people who licensed it to get off their rearends and and dub it? Geez.. jump down a person's throat much? It's as if you know what I do, so yr attacking me without attacking what I do. Yeah, I work for fansubbing, yeah, I work for scanlation groups.. yeah.. I do distribution. On top of all that, yeah, I own the dvds. I also own the FMA video games.. both of them. I have over 7tbs of avi files and zips of scans.. I am well versed on the law, being a paralegal and all. However, seeing as they have only dubbed up to like 50 in One Piece, who is it hurting for fansubbing groups to continue subbing, when its up to 266? And the movies.. they haven't even started on OP movies.. or the specials.. you seen any of the FMA specials? You think they're gonna even bother dubbing those? Or how about all those ecchi animes.. nope nope, they won't even make their way thru the front door. Princess Princess, Ouran Host Club, Gakuen Heaven, Patallliro Saiyuki.. yeah.. because of their 'shounen-ai' content.. they probably won't ever make it to the US either.. but since I am addicted to those series, I am supposed to wait until the company decides to release them, if they decide to license them half way through? Or Naruto and Bleach? OMG, Bleach is in horrible filler mode right, Naruto has been for what, going on 2 years now? Should I stop wondering if the annoying filler has stopped, just because in 6mos, it will be on Cartoon Network? I may have patience, but I am most definately not a saint. If you're a saint, more power to you.
