Okay truthfully this is my first yaoi con. So would you say it's a lot like other cons?
I'm possibly not the best to answer this (since my YCon visits outnumber my total other-con visits), but I think it's accurate to say that, from the outside, it's much the same - there's people, there's cosplay, there's events, there's art for sale, there's a dealers room etc etc etc. Once you're inside, though, it's got a whole other feel to it. It's so much friendlier, so much more energetic, and somehow just feels that bit more
alive. There's just a certain buzz about the place that I haven't experienced at other cons, as much fun as they've been.
Could just be me, mind, but that's my perception - it's more intimate (even without the smooching >P), it's more personal, and it's just more pleasant.
