Hmmm... well the thing that prevents it from being totally practical at Yaoi-con would probably be a limitation of space. There are no areas, other than the main ballroom area, which have very large amounts of floorspace and absolutely no areas with overlooks (which are a good idea, though not totally necessary, for cosplay chess). Good luck, though!
