I think you get an email from Isis though when you pass the 'preliminary' online application.

The auction has limited spaces available so if you apply early, they have plenty of time to weigh the pros and cons between you and the other Bishis. You'll want to submit your best photo. The better looking you are, the better your chances of approval are. Even if you're not chosen for the Auction, you may still participate in the other bishounen events such as the Bishi Bingo etc.
