I can say, first-hand, that Yaoi-con brings out that social butterfly that you never had in you. I know, also, that people from Y-con would never on their silliest days call me 'shy' or 'demure.' I guess there's something about going up in front of a crowd of a couple hundred in frilly panties that somewhat precludes that.
The thing is that, in all seriousness, I am! Despite that, though, totally separate from the fact that I'm one of those luckyish people who adopts a performance mentality when on stage, I am overly comfortable with the overwhelming majority of the people at Y-con. I can talk, laugh, be myself, and not have to worry about being politically correct for the benefit of the crowd, all of which puts that generally superior to most company. I was just doubly lucky in that I managed to find a compatible partner at this same con (Or, more accurately, she found me. I wasn't looking until I knew that I was being looked for, but I'm glad I did).
