Akiahara -
There was a mini fridge in our room, in the boudoir, under the television. Set of drawers on the left, door disguised as a set of drawers on the right. We stocked the fridge on Thursday with ham, cheese, smoked salmon, and bread and ate out of it all weekend.
We didn't have a suite or anything special. I think you may need to have looked harder.

Thank you, Anneke!
To people complaining that the hotel is in the boonies, omg WUT? There are restaurants, a fabric store, a Michael's Crafts, Trader Joes, a huge Rite Aid... all the things one needs for last-minute convention and room party supplies. No, there are not cute Japanese shops. Spend an extra day in the area and go to Japantown via the bus if you really really need that!
I've stayed in hotels for shows that were literally in the middle of nowhere, with NOTHING around for miles, not even a Denny's or a truckstop. Or that were surrounded by weird over priced shopping malls but otherwise isolated (... anyone else here go to Yaoi Jamboree...? Or perhaps Dollectible a few years ago?)
The hotel Yaoi Con is in right now is awesome, if some of the con spaces are a bit small. This is coming from someone with 17 years and 44+ cons worth of experience. You have NO IDEA how good we have it.
It would be lame to have a show only independently wealthy people and pros could afford - I love the awesome variety in people YaoiCon gets right now. If we moved somewhere *less* expensive, I should hope it has half the conveniences at least and hotel staff at least half as friendly and accomodating.
Also, 18$ a day for valet parking is NOT bad. I usually am dropped off at shows or take the train in because most large convention hotels charge 25-30 a day for parking; we drove this year, and we were relieved at the (lack of) cost.
