And we should totally just carry our luggage uphill both ways in the snow and not complain about it because some veteran con-goers have it worse than us and stuff!

Seriously, parking in SF is special. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway for Dollectable this summer, and that parking was ...interesting to say the least. Parking at the hotel itself was a nightmare due to cramped conditions, and the nearest parking lot was at the Whole Foods a couple blocks away. I doubt they let you park there just because your hotel is close by, and paying for overnight in a lot gets expensive too.

Or we could do something crazy and have a hotel where we can park at a lower rate and have more attendees. If most folks are okay with actually attending the con for what it is, then they get accommodated. Perhaps then it should be suggested that the Japantown contingent go on a separate vacation just to go to Japantown and not screw the rest of us with higher hotel costs.
